On Strike

It hurts so much
To see you out there
I want to smile
But know I can't
I have to wonder
Why?
Why do you do this to yourselves?
To us?
To our parents?
To everyone?
I have to wonder
Do you care?
Can you care?
Have you ever cared?
Can we ever care again?
You claim to want to set a good example
Is this the way?
The only example you have ever set
Is that we students can not trust you!
I want things to be
As they were before
But now I know
They can never be
Because you don't care
Otherwise you would be in here
With us
Instead you are outside
Picketing
Trying to make nice
With all your former students
It's your decision
But we must live with it
It's your choice
But it affects us more
You had a choice a decision
We didn't
But we paid the price
I can't stand to look at you
I feel betrayed
Lied to
disappointed
You hurt us
And our education
How can we forgive you?
Is it possible?
Will it ever happen?
Can it ever happen?
I do not know
And from now until forever
I do not think
I will ever care again
